FAQs
What networks do you work with?
We have a long-standing relationship with EE but also work with O2 and Vodafone.
How much do you charge for analysing our data?
There’s no charge in the analysis element of our service. All we want to do is ensure you’re on the best plan at the best rate!
When can I change contract to work with you?
We can look to upgrade you from 1 month prior to your contract ending. In special circumstances it may be worth upgrading earlier than this, but we’ll help guide you to the best solution.
Can I add or remove connections during my contract period?
Adding connections is easy to do, but please let us help you with this. We’ll often advise on the contract term to take out on the next connection with a view to having as many lines as possible available for upgrade at the same time. Removing connections will come at a cost from the network.
What’s a sharer plan?
A sharer plan means one lead user has - for example - 100GB of data, they can share this data between colleagues rather than everyone having their own data plan. This is often more cost effective when you have upwards of 5 connections on your account.
Why should I work with 5G Scotland instead of going directly to the Networks?
From experience, networks do not focus on SOHO or small SME accounts (typically accounts with 1-250 lines). But more important, we understand the frustrations and time restraints that business owners are under, so our day-to-day management of your account removes any stress from this relationship.
I have a perfectly working device which I would like to carry on using, is this possible?
Yes! Reusing your current mobile phones is a great way to save money. Handsets are only “free” because their costs are added to your monthly price plan; if you do not need any new equipment, we can look for cheap and cost-effective SIM-only price plans could save you on your monthly line rental. However, your device may be locked to your current network, so you may need to contact them first.
I would like a new phone but my current one is working for now. Do I need to take the new device now?
The choice is yours. If you feel that your current phone may not last long, we will advise what devices are available to you now. However, we can set up a hardware fund which you can use to purchase devices in the future. The hardware fund will depend on what package you opt for and cost of devices will vary in the future.
I was told that EE’s coverage is not good, why are they your preferred partner?
EE’s is the top performing network operator in the UK according to the latest RootMetrics 2019 study. This will be 5 years in a row that EE has come top! EE’s coverage, like all the other UK networks, will have areas of good coverage and areas of bad coverage. As part of our due diligence, we will check the coverage of EE, and other networks, at your home/office address; we will only offer you a network’s proposal if you get a reliable mobile signal from that network. EE has other products such as WiFi calling and EE Signal Boxes that will boost signal in your location.
Why are you more expensive compared to other dealers’ proposals?
Having worked in the industry for the last 25 years, it is sadly vey common for some dealers to tender proposals which are very cheap per month. They either have not matched price plans meeting your needs or requirements or have deliberately withheld out-of-bundle costs from their proposals in order to win the tender. It is very likely these dealers will then mis-manage your account and you will then incur additional monthly costs. We analyse your previous mobile invoices, where possible, to identify your usages. We then match the best price plan to your users needs. Our proposals may not always be the cheapest on paper, but we take pride knowing that ours will be the cheapest once all the out of bundle charges are included.
